Music Addicition Workshop

 

Established by Bernadette Choy, Music Addiction Workshop is a Hong Kong- based music production Workshop. We produce, compose, arrange music and score for visual media all around the world，our clients include individuals, film makers, schools, commercial organizations, goverment departmetns, and arts organizations.

Bernadette's music experience covers concert music, multimedia, religious, education, pop songs, film and TV scoring, musicals and game music.

 

 

 

She was the assistant music producer of the feature film, The Pork of Music. Other scoring works includes Pawnshop, which was screened at the Fresh Wave 2010 – International Short Film Festival; animation film, Paperdoll, that has won the  3rd prize of the 12th TBS DigiCon6 Awards (Japan), screened at the HKICT Awards 2011 and The 1st Asia Rainbow TV Awards; short film, ​Princess​, screened at various film festival in Europe and U.S.A, includes the Southampton International Film Festival, Chain NYC Film Festival, NYLA International Film Festival, Columbia Gorge International Film Festival. She also composed for the Hong Kong Heritage Museum,“Dunhuang – Untold Tales, Untold Riches" and "Ceremony and Celebration – The Grand Weddings of the Qing Emperors" Exhibition Audio Guide.

She composed for various school musicals, corporate videos and did music arrangements for various music groups as well.

 

 

 

​She occasionally collaborates with concert musicians and write contemporary music. As for her chamber composition A Walk in the afternoon was performed by the Kokoro Ensemble in the U.K.; multimedia composition, All Day Climax was performed by percussionist Adilia Yip in Hong Kong and various countries in Europe, meanwhile the piece was aired on a TVB cultural programme, and was published by the Holland Music Publisher Beurskens Muziekuitgeverij. In 2011, her Chinese orchestral music work Spooks was performed by the Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra in the "Music from the Heart" concert.

 

 

 

Bernadette Choy received her Master of Music degree in Music Technology and Digital Media from the Univeristy of Toronto, Canada, Master of Arts degree in Composition of Music for Film and Television from the University of Bristol, U.K.; she also obtains the Licentiate Diploma in piano recital of the Trinity College of London (LTCL). Besides compositions, she is actively involved in music education, she is also a part-time lecturer at the Education University of Hong Kong (EduHK), the Technological and Higher Education Institute of Hong Kong (THEi),  instructor of School of Continuing and Professional Studies of The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUSCS),  Hong Kong Community College (PolyU-HKCC) and various local colleges includes Institute of Hong Kong Senior Secondary School Music Education, Queen's College, etc., on music production, film scoring and music composition subjects.
